Be sure to follow me on Twitter: @HoganTheBoxer, for daily updates on raising boxer puppies!
I finally got a semi-decent picture of Hogan’s GREEN eyes 🙂 While many puppies are born with green or blue eyes, most will have brown eyes as adults. I hope Hogan gets to keep this stunning color, but either way, at least I have photographic proof of these beauties!
Congratulations on owning the best dog breed in the world! Or perhaps you are just researching the breed! Either way, I look forward to sharing my journey through puppyhood with you while providing you tips and tricks to a long life of happiness with your best friend.
To help us explore the stages of a boxer’s life, this blog will follow the life of my own puppy, Hogan, who is currently only an 8 week old tyke!
Isn’t he cute? Notice how his eyes turn blue in pictures? Well, right now they are actually VERY green! It’s so adorable! However, my vet warned me not to get attached to those puppy dog eyes, as they tend to change from blue or green to brown by 12 weeks of age… so, FINGERS CROSSED!
I will soon be posting all the things you should know about caring for your puppy at 8 weeks of age. Each following week, a new post will go over your puppy’s development, along with other helpful tips and tricks.
Some of the issues I plan to cover in upcoming blog posts include :
* Which Dog Food is Best?
* How to Crate Train
* How to Teach Sit, High-Five and Shake
* Homemade Healthy Dog Treats
* Health Testing – What You Should Know
* Potty-Training Made Easy
* To Crop or Not to Crop?
* Training the Natural Ear to Lay Flat
* The Cancer Epidemic in the Boxer Breed – What You Can Do to Protect Your Dog
* And a Whole Lot More!
Even if your boxer is full grown, there are still measures you can take in order to prolong his life (and help him live a GRAND life at that). Ever heard the old saying “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks?” Well, whether or not it is true, you MOST DEFINITELY can help your older boxer FEEL young again by providing him with a healthy lifestyle!
I look forward to sharing my experiences with you in the near future! For now, get to know me and Hogan on my About Me page. You can also visit my “Contact Me” page to sign up for weekly BoxerGrams via email so you will always know when a new post is up!
In the meantime, give me some feedback on what type of information you hope to learn more about:
